Vision relies not on just seeing clearly but understanding speed, position and your relation to it so you can make the appropriate reaction to the world around you. Efficient visual ability reduces fatigue and enhances performance. A squash player needs to be able to see the ball, track it, judge its trajectory and speed, be aware of their opponent in their peripheral vision to play the appropriate shot to win the point.
Training looks at peripheral functional fields; good binocular (both eyes together) skills; speed of focus change; depth perception and tracking movement. Assessment lasts about an hour and includes an action plan. Training sessions are ½ to ¾ hour.
